Multi-part installation and performative gestures
I spend late summer in the Alps, and study how the steep mountain slopes are maintained and worked on. The new tunnel through the Gotthard is right next to my studio. The rock masses blasted out are used for other infrastructural measures or simply as land fill. At the other end of the valley, the barrier lake hides a village on its bottom. Natural forms are overwritten, shifted, redesigned. I am fascinated by the clash of forms, functions and immense creative will that have been evident in the landscape for centuries.
So I start building landscape structures in the studio. They consist of movable objects, collages, drawings and geometric shapes, which in turn are interrupted by gestures and actions.
