The ordnance survey maps of Portmsouth show many details, yet they also depict spaces without any information: White Areas. I set out to explore these blank regions, and in the course of one autumn I discover military and disused places, vast spaces with a wide sky along the coast, then areas completely boarded up and inaccessible. Contrasts along the south coast of England.
