Flur-Stücke

2019

Flur-Stücke is a performative walk in the landscape, together with the 10th grade of the Schöppingen School.
This work refers to the so-called "Schnadgänge", a tradition from the Münsterland region that has largely been forgotten. These were joint field border inspections to monitor conditions of the fields, and to prevent border disputes. Just like those former border walks, we too walk along the edges of the fields on Schöppinger Berg. Like a procession, we carry objects into the landscape. These were built from recycled material and paper mache and formulate a wide variety of observations, questions and requests to the intensively used environment in a critical and humorous way. Ultimately, the point is to take a new look at what you are used to: What does it actually look like here?
